Credit Bureau Dispute Mailing Addresses (Updated 2015)

Have you noticed that it’s nearly impossible to find the Credit Bureau Dispute Addresses online? Even when you go on the Bureau’s website, they hide their mailing address behind a bunch of links and try to get you to dispute online through their own system. Why is this? Well, the Credit Bureaus are profiting from consumers with less than perfect credit, you can read more about that here. When a consumer, or Credit Repair Company sends a physical dispute to the Credit Bureaus, it costs them money to process the dispute and they have to complete the dispute investigation within 30 days of receiving a request. So, they want you to use their online automated dispute system to help save them money AND to take away some of your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Yes, they actually make you agree to their ‘terms of service’ which actually give you the disadvantage. So, if you’re reading this, you’re probably smart enough to know NOT to use their automated system, BUT, did you know that if you’re disputing accounts and the last Credit Report you pulled was an Annual Credit Report, you also get a severe disadvantage in the dispute process? It’s true! The Fair Credit Reporting Act states that the Credit Bureaus must respond to your disputes within 30 days, unless you used an Annual Credit Report, then they have 45 days. That’s a 50% increase in time they have to do the investigation, which will also significantly lower your success rate.

How To Send Disputes To The Credit Bureaus

First, I must warn you that I always recommend hiring a professional if you’re planning on doing any kind of Credit Disputes, or attempt your own Credit Repair. I’ve been in the Credit Repair business for over 10 years now and it’s rare to see an individual have a ton of success when attempting to do their own Repairs. Second, be extremely cautious about the professional you work with, there are companies out there that claim to be a Law Firm, but you’ll never speak to an Attorney. My company is called Cobalt Credit Services, we’re a Credit Repair Company located in Seattle, WA and here is the link to our website:  https://www.BetterCreditGuaranteed.com

If you do decide to take on the task of sending your own disputes, make sure you follow these instructions:

1) Never use a form letter or a template dispute you find online. The Credit Bureaus use a system called OCR, Optical Character Recognition. If they see the same letter used in the past, they will give your file a reg flag and your disputes won’t get anywhere. So make sure you send a custom, one-off letter.

2) Always send your Disputes by Certified Mail. If you don’t send disputes through USPS Certified Mail w/ a Return Receipt, you’ll likely miss out on some HUGE opportinities for a lawsuit if the Bureaus do break the law. You always need proof you sent the letters and this is the only way that will hold up in a Court Room.

3) Don’t stop after the first dispute letters. You need to continue to dispute every single month, as soon as you receive a response from the Bureaus, you will want to open another dispute.

4) Don’t just dispute with the Credit Bureaus! There are new laws in place that pertain to the Original Creditor and/or the Debt Collector. They must honor disputes and debt validations in the same way the Credit Bureaus do.

5) Hire a Credit Repair Company if you have the means.

Credit Bureau Dispute Addresses Updated 2015

Be careful, the Credit Bureaus are sneaky and they change their Addresses often, so it’s hard for you to get your disputes sent to them. If you go to Transunions Website right now, they have the wrong Zip Code listed for their PO BOX in Chester, PA. This means that consumers are getting Disputes returned to them if they don’t know the right address. Here are the Credit Bureau’s Dispute Addresses Updated for 2015:

Equifax Dispute Address:

Equifax – PO Box 740241 – Atlanta, GA  30374

Experian Dispute Address:

Experian – PO Box 4500 – Allen, TX  75013

Transunion Dispute Address:

Transunion – PO Box 1000 – Chester, PA  19016
