Credit-denied

Nobody can deny the fact that we’ve all been plagued with either bad credit, late payments, or collection accounts that have knocked our credit ratings down a few points. And lets face it, we’re not all financial geniuses or planners, and sometimes we just need a little guidance on how and where are financial priorities should stand, but that in itself is a lot to trust within a person let alone a company. So where do you start when you are no longer able to be approved for the basic necessities in life such as a cell phone, home, or even a job? Trust me, you are not alone…

they dont teach you

Understanding how a credit score affects your entire future is not something you learn at an early age, from jump street you either make it or break it, and by break it I mean you are B-R-O-K-E. Unfortunately, money planning and basic credit knowledge is something that should be taught at an early age in order to get it right the first time, second time, or even a third time. Though we may not be able to change a school’s priorities around and encourage their students to understand the importance of money management, what we can do is start setting a positive example, and fixing the damage we’ve done to our own wallets.

my story

Bad credit had plagued my credit report since the day I signed up for my first department store credit card when I was at the tender age of 18. I didn’t understand nor respect the responsibility of maintaining good credit, and lost a lot in the process. I have been a victim of identity theft, late payments, collection accounts, and at times without a job.

Though i’m happily employed with Cobalt Credit Services as their Office Administrator, I couldn’t be any more ecstatic with the direct results i’ve seen within my own credit increase while taking advantage of learning money management skills. Blessings blew my way when I was able to work with Jesse 1 on 1, and he explained to me exactly what the credit advisors were doing step by step through the entire dispute process. If I may tell you, this is not an easy process… this is a legal battle between creditors, bureaus, banks, and most importantly the consumer and this is NOT a quick fix and it is important for future and current clients to understand the amount of time and work that goes into the dispute process.

If you have been plagued with bad credit, no time is better than now to start repairing those mistakes..

Where to Start

1.) Out of my own experiences with beat-up credit I cannot stress the importance of investing in credit monitoring.

Reasons being:

a.)  Pulling your own credit report will never ever EVER count against you, but having someone else pull your scores will. Believe it or not, every point counts when you are in the low 500’s.

b.) Bad things happen to good people. Bad credit happens to good people. Identity theft happens to good people. No lie. When you sign up for credit monitoring that they alert you every time something foreign is reporting on your credit!

c.) It’s always good to know what your scores look like. If you are thinking of applying for an auto loan, credit card, etc.,  making sure your credit profile has a healthy mix, this will work in your favor a lot more than you think.

Dont waste your time full

2.) Do your research. Chances are if you are looking for credit repair companies that guarantee specific results in 30 days, look again.

3.) Look for a 100% licensed and LEGAL company that has supporting evidence and credentials that keep them in business! Credit Repair has not necessarily gained a reputable name, but that does not mean that there are not some reputable restoration companies out there. Recognize a scam from the real thing.

If you have negative items reporting on your credit report, the worst thing you could do is hesitate on taking care of it. Now I’m not saying go with the first credit restoration company that pops up on Google, it’s always important to do your research first and foremost to get the most bang for your buck, but the longer you wait to take care of these mistakes, the longer it will take to reverse it.
